Chelmsford City Football Club have confirmed the departure of first-team manager Angelo Harrop with immediate effect.
The announcement comes at a critical stage of the 2025/26 National League South season, with the Clarets still in contention for a play-off place. Harrop, who only took charge in May 2025, leaves after approximately 10 months in the role.
In a short statement, club chairman Spencer Gore said:
“Chelmsford City Football Club can confirm that it has parted company with Angelo Harrop with immediate effect.”
Harrop was appointed as Robbie Simpson’s successor in March 2025 on a two-year deal and officially began his tenure in May. The former Braintree Town boss arrived with a strong reputation after guiding the Iron to promotion into the National League the previous season. He was seen as an ambitious appointment, with Harrop himself expressing belief that Chelmsford had the potential to one day reach the English Football League.
No further details have been released regarding the reasons for the parting or the identity of a potential successor. The club is expected to provide an update on interim arrangements shortly as they look to maintain their play-off momentum in the final weeks of the campaign.
