Free Essex Witch Museum Pop-Up at Shire Hall, Chelmsford
Discover Essex's fascinating witchcraft history at a free museum exhibition in Chelmsford city centre this October half term.
The Essex Witch Museum is bringing a special pop-up exhibition to the historic Shire Hall in Tindal Square, running from Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November 2026.
Explore why Essex became known as 'Witch County', learn about the people accused during the historic witch trials and discover the difference between witches and traditional Cunning Folk.
The exhibition is part of Chelmsford For You's Witches of Chelmsford celebrations, which also include a free family Tarot Trail around the city centre.
Families can collect a spellbook at Shire Hall and follow clues to discover hidden tarot cards, solve a mystery word and earn themed stickers.
