Marsh Farm has become one of the Chelmsford district's most popular family Bonfire Night destinations, and its Family Fireworks event is returning for one night only in 2026.
The display is being promoted as a low-bang fireworks spectacular, with fireworks specially selected to reduce noise while retaining the colourful effects of a traditional display.
Organisers stress that low-bang does not mean completely silent, and some louder bangs may still be heard.
Admission includes entry to Marsh Farm from 2pm, giving families several hours to enjoy the farm before the fireworks begin.
Activities include farm animals, the dinosaur adventure, giant bouncing pillows, indoor and outdoor adventure play and soft play.
Food and drink will be available, while children's rides can be purchased as an additional upgrade.
Marsh Farm fireworks ticket prices
Second-release tickets are currently priced at £9 per person, or £32 for a family of four, until midnight on 30 September or until the allocation sells out.
General-release tickets are due to cost £10 per person or £36 for a family of four from 1 October.
On-the-day admission, if tickets remain available, will cost £12 per person.
Toddlers aged between six months and under two can be booked from £4, while babies under six months are admitted free.
Marsh Farm warns that the fireworks event sells out each year and says tickets will not be available at the gate if advance tickets sell out.
Sparklers and visitors' own fireworks are not permitted.
Chelmsford Round Table Fireworks at Admirals Park
Date: Saturday 7 November 2026
Gates open: 5pm
Location: Admirals Park, Chelmsford
Status: Confirmed – tickets on sale
One of the biggest announcements we're waiting for is the return of the traditional Chelmsford Round Table Charity Fireworks Display at Admirals Park.
The event is a long-established fixture in Chelmsford's calendar and traditionally attracts thousands of people.
As well as the main fireworks display, previous events have included live entertainment, food and drink and funfair rides.
Importantly, this is a charity event, with money raised supporting good causes in the local community.
Chelmsford City Racecourse Fireworks Spectacular
2026 date: To be confirmed
Location: Chelmsford City Racecourse, Great Leighs, CM3 1QP
Status: Awaiting announcement
Chelmsford City Racecourse has also staged one of the area's largest annual fireworks events.
Previous Fireworks Spectacular events have combined a large fireworks display with entertainment, a funfair, street food and bars.
The racecourse's location at Great Leighs also makes the event popular with families travelling from outside Chelmsford itself.
However, a 2026 Fireworks Spectacular has not yet been confirmed, so visitors should be cautious about online listings displaying dates from previous years.
We'll add the confirmed date, opening times and ticket prices here if a 2026 event is announced.
Battlesbridge fireworks
Date: Saturday 7 November 2026
Gates open: 5pm
Status: Confirmed – tickets on sale
Another event worth watching is the traditional fireworks spectacular at Battlesbridge.
Previous events have combined a bonfire and fireworks with family activities, food and seasonal entertainment.
When is Bonfire Night 2026?
Guy Fawkes Night — commonly known as Bonfire Night — is always held on 5 November.
In 2026, 5 November falls on a Thursday.
Many organised displays therefore take place on the weekend before or after Bonfire Night rather than on 5 November itself.
That means the weekends around Saturday 31 October and Saturday 7 November are likely to be particularly important for fireworks events this year.
Event dates should always be checked before travelling.
Fireworks at home in Chelmsford
Not everybody attends an organised display, and some residents choose to celebrate Bonfire Night with fireworks at home.
However, fireworks can cause considerable distress to pets, livestock, wildlife and people who are sensitive to sudden loud noises.
Chelmsford City Council has previously promoted its Rocket O'Clock campaign, encouraging people using fireworks at home to keep them within predictable periods.
The idea is simple: if fireworks are concentrated into a smaller and more predictable window, neighbours have a better idea of when to expect the noise and can make arrangements for pets, young children or people who may find fireworks distressing.
Rocket O'Clock is a voluntary initiative rather than a legal restriction.
The council has also encouraged residents to consider attending organised public displays instead of holding their own.
We will update this guide if Chelmsford City Council announces specific Rocket O'Clock times for Bonfire Night 2026.
What time can you legally set off fireworks?
There are restrictions on when fireworks can be used in the UK.
For most of the year, fireworks must not be set off between 11pm and 7am.
Different rules apply on certain occasions, including Bonfire Night, when the permitted period is extended until midnight.
Anyone planning a home display should also be considerate of neighbours and take particular care around animals and vulnerable residents.
Firework safety
Anyone using fireworks at home should follow the instructions supplied with them and ensure spectators remain a safe distance away.
Children should never be allowed to handle fireworks.
Sparklers should also be treated carefully. They become extremely hot and should be held at arm's length while wearing gloves before being placed in a bucket of water after use.
Never return to a firework after it has been lit, even if it appears not to have gone off.
For larger celebrations, attending a professionally organised display is generally the easiest way to enjoy fireworks without having to store, prepare or ignite them yourself.
Are there low-noise fireworks displays near Chelmsford?
Yes.
Marsh Farm's confirmed Family Fireworks on Saturday 7 November 2026 will use specially selected low-bang fireworks.
The organisers say these provide colourful effects while being gentler on younger ears than a conventional display.
The fireworks aren't completely silent, however, and Marsh Farm recommends that particularly noise-sensitive visitors consider bringing ear defenders.
The farm says the quieter fireworks and the location of the launch area have also been chosen with the welfare of its animals in mind.
Can I bring sparklers to Chelmsford fireworks displays?
Don't assume you can.
For example, Marsh Farm specifically prohibits visitors from bringing sparklers or their own fireworks to its 2026 Family Fireworks event.
Other organisers may impose similar restrictions for safety reasons.
Check the individual event's rules before travelling.
More Chelmsford fireworks events coming soon

- Chelmsford City Racecourse
- Battlesbridge
- community and school fireworks displays
- low-noise and family-friendly displays
- events elsewhere in the wider Chelmsford district
Chelmsford City Hub will update this page throughout September and October as organisers confirm their 2026 events.
