A cyclist has died following a collision involving two vehicles on the A130 in Essex.
Essex Police were called to the northbound carriageway of the A130 at Rettendon Turnpike, between Howe Green and Rettendon, at around 00:20 GMT on Thursday 26 March 2026.
It is understood that the crash involved a cyclist and two vehicles. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound carriageway was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident and investigators examined the scene. The road has since reopened.
Police have launched an appeal for information and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a cyclist wearing black clothing riding a white mountain bike in the area between the A1114 in Chelmsford and the A130 prior to the collision.
Officers are also asking for any dashcam footage or CCTV that could assist their investigation.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We are investigating a fatal collision on the A130 in the early hours of Thursday 26 March. We want to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage relating to this incident, or may have seen a cyclist in black clothing on a white mountain bike between the A1114 in Chelmsford and the A130 before this incident.”
