Emergency water repair leaves supplies affected in Chelmsford area

Homes in part of the Chelmsford area could experience disruption to their water supplies today as engineers carry out an emergency repair.

Essex & Suffolk Water has confirmed that an emergency repair is required around Steeple Road in the CM3 postcode area.

The water company warned customers that supplies in the surrounding area may be affected while the work is carried out.

It currently expects the disruption to continue until approximately 2.30pm today.

In an update to customers, Essex & Suffolk Water said: "Emergency Repair Required. Water supplies around #SteepleRoad may be affected until 2:30pm. Thanks for your patience."

The company has not provided further details about the cause of the problem or how many properties are affected.

Customers in the area may experience low water pressure or an interruption to their supply while engineers complete the emergency work.

The estimated 2.30pm time is subject to the progress of the repair.
